I grew up with the teaching that our entire life was destined – a drama set in stone, with no scope for anything to be changed.

Something about this teaching never felt right to me.

However, those days, it was not the done thing for children to question authority. Many of us just nodded out heads in acceptance even when something did not feel right.

When my own life turned into one huge mess and I could so easily see that I had the power to change many things, it didn’t feel good at all to sit back and say, “Why bother? It’s my destiny to suffer. So, I will just let things be as they are.”

It felt like I had to take charge of my life and do something to make it better. However, I didn’t know how to effectively plan my life in accordance with this belief.

Since I had a strong intention to create a new reality for myself, I guess the Universe supported me. It brought me in contact with some teachers who helped me translate that belief into reality.

They taught me tips and tricks to make that belief an unshakable part of me.

That was my introduction to the Law of Attraction.

While I worked with multiple LOA tools, the one that worked wonders for me was called Scripting – the process of writing in detail about your goals, intentions, dreams, desires, preferences and callings.

And lo and behold – I have to say it was magical!

When I checked my scripting after every intention came to pass, every detail matched what I had written – sometimes even exceeding my expectations.

And this validated my inner knowing that I did indeed have the power to create my life. Having said that, I do believe some things could be pre-destined based on our soul’s choices prior to incarnating on Earth. But I feel there is plenty of leeway and that aspects of life can be rewritten during the course of life (if the soul so wishes to).

Scripting is a practice I do even today. I often remember with gratitude the teachers who helped me own my truth and taught me how to apply it in practical ways.

The Grand Thread Of Universal Energy

I believe beyond doubt that we are all connected by an invisible yet grand thread of energy.

I believe beyond doubt there is more to our existence than meets the physical eye.

My belief is not blind. Nor has it been imposed by anyone.

It has formed as a result of my own experiences.

When I look back at my life, I see that an invisible thread of energy was functional in my life, even when I wasn’t conscious of its presence. It has been functional since the time I was a child and continues to be present to this day.

I can write an entire book explaining the role this invisible energy thread has played in my life. I have drawn into my life both negative as well as positive people and experiences and I can see the place each of them takes in this invisible thread of energy.

Prior to the year 2007, my life was mostly filled with negative energy of varied kinds. In this article, I choose to share examples from the period of 2007 and beyond, when I learned to tap into the power of this energy thread in positive and conscious ways and began to draw more positive energy into my life as a result.

I share three positive examples from the year 2007-

Sixth Sense At Work

In the years 2006-07, I often traveled past a hospital in Bangalore. Every time I went past it, I felt an irresistible urge to gaze at it. And I gave in to this urge every single time. I didn’t give much thought to why I felt that way. All I knew was that looking at that hospital gave me a subtle sense of peace. And I forgot all about it until I went past it again!

When I met Suraj in 2007, he told me he worked for the very hospital I had been looking at for a year! He had completed his super-specialty training in cancer surgery in 2006 and was employed by that hospital the very same year.

When he told me about his workplace, I had a fleeting thought – “How interesting that I was drawn to this hospital for no logical reason! Maybe it wasn’t illogical after all! My sixth sense probably picked up something the other five could not.”

‘Almost Meeting’ Just Before ‘The Meeting’

Suraj dropped me home the day we met for the first time, and when he saw where I lived, he smiled in surprise. He said he had visited the office of a Medical Council located right next to my home exactly a week ago!

And when we traced it even further, we deciphered that on that day, a week ago, I had walked out of my home around the same time that he walked into the Medical Council. It may even have been the same moment or barely a few minutes apart!

“How interesting again!” I thought.

I personally feel this was because the time for our meeting was drawing closer. And I believe this phenomenon of almost brushing past one another was a way for our souls to re-connect before we could meet in person.

And why do I say re-connect?

Eternal Connections

Right from my childhood, I felt connected to an unknown soul who I felt was out there but who I hadn’t yet met. I knew deep within that I would meet this soul in physical form one day.

And I personally feel Suraj was that soul. Reasons being-

The minute I looked into his eyes, I saw a hidden light and his energy felt familiar.

I barely knew him, yet I felt very safe in his energy.

From the period of 2003 leading up to 2007, I was constantly attracting people who ended up being terrible for the ‘human me’, though they were great catalysts for my growth as a soul! When I had a spiritual awakening in 2007, I decided I was done drawing the wrong people into my circle.

Suraj was grounded, stable, sensible, and sincere. It was refreshing, to say the least.

The roller coaster ride through years of chaos and craziness was brought to a screeching halt by his grounding presence in my life.

He was my exact opposite in some ways but we shared a similar vibration and core values. His contrasting energy infused with the higher vibrations of safety and unconditional love grounded me and healed me in more ways than one.

This was just the beginning of another journey on the thread – a journey towards greater evolution and unconditional love!

Energy Works In Mysterious Ways

I love the mysterious ways in which energy works.

In the years 2006-2007, I often traveled past a hospital in Bangalore.

Every time I passed by the hospital, my attention was drawn to that space and I found myself looking at it until I passed the entire stretch it occupied. I felt a sense of peace when I saw it.

When I met Suraj in 2007, he told me he worked for that hospital and had been there since 2006.

Coincidence?

Not sure.

I believe we have ways of picking up on certain vibes, without knowing immediately what they may mean.

Similarly, exactly a week before I met Suraj, I was walking out of home, while he was entering an office space adjacent to my home for some work.

And how do I know this?

When I met him the following week, he offered to drop me back home. And when he saw where I lived, he told me he had been right next door exactly a week back. And when we traced this even further back in time, we realised that the time I walked out and he walked in was almost the same!

I loved a buzzing neighbourhood in our city and often dreamt of living there someday. At the same time, I also loved coffee plantations and the solitude of nature. Post our marriage, circumstances got us to move into this neighbourhood I always dreamt of living in. And a year after living in an apartment, we were offered accommodation at the residential campus of the hospital located in the same neighbourhood.

And guess what?

This campus, despite being bang in the middle of the city, was Paradise On Earth. It was lush green and had varieties of exotic trees and birds. Things began to feel even more magical when I discovered that the house we were allotted also had a coffee plant in its backyard! The doctor who had stayed there prior to us hailed from a plantation family. So, he planted the coffee, apart from several other beautiful plants and trees, including an orange tree!

I can create a long list of such sweetly mysterious experiences that I have had.

However, I will stop at this.

Sure, it may all just be a string of coincidences. Even assuming it is nothing more than coincidence, I think it still is pretty amazing!

I personally believe we attract whatever matches our vibe and our deepest desires, and that if we look close enough, we will see an invisible thread of energy running between us and everything that is in our life.

Empowering Books: Notes From The Universe

Year 2007 – I was in a dark place. Life had presented me with multiple challenges through the years and I was exhausted. I was struggling to find –

A sense of stability
True and fulfilling love
Peace of mind
Freedom from fear and fear based conditioning
Healing of old traumas

I explored several self-help tools and techniques to support myself – handwriting analysis, gemology, meditation, dance therapy, and law of attraction studies. I benefitted in different ways from each of them and am grateful for the role they played in helping me create a refreshing new life.

November 2007 – I trained in Reiki. Reiki practice helped me clean up residual clutter from my life. And I also found a book that turned my life around.

I was casually strolling through a bookstore with no intention of buying a book, when one particular book caught my attention – ‘Notes From The Universe’ by Mike Dooley!

I felt an instant connection to this book and sat down to read it. I found myself staring open-mouthed at the content within this book. Each word I read helped me feel alive. Every word rang true deep within my heart. I knew I hadn’t found this book by chance. I was super thrilled. I purchased a copy of this book and raced home to read the remainder of it over a soothing cup of tea!

The law of attraction exercises I had been practicing until this point had certainly put me on the path of ‘conscious manifestation.’ However, ‘Notes From The Universe’ helped me take the law of attraction to a whole new level. It helped me develop a personal connection with the Universe. Every time I read the book, I felt like I was actually conversing and laughing along with the Universe. I had loads of fun manifesting the life I dreamt of!

My days were filled with more joy than ever before. I practiced creative visualization for a few minutes each day. And I did take baby steps towards my dreams as constantly recommended by dear old Universe in the book.

And lo and behold! In less than a month’s time, my life’s circumstances shifted almost miraculously and brought in everything I needed, desired, and more.

Now, does this mean I have had no problems in life since then?

Not at all!

I am human too and have my fair share of troubles to deal with.

However, the difference now is that I try to view and address life’s ‘problems’ from the standpoint of the Universe and its metaphysical laws, while also taking necessary practical steps to resolve them. This approach brings more ease into my journey.

I believe the Universe is indeed a magical place, ever willing to reveal its magic to each one of us. All we need to do is open our eyes, minds, and hearts to this magic and allow it to carry us along.
